Group Classes

Kim's group classes go far beyond sit and stay. Your relationship with your dog will deepen as the two of you learn how to communicate with and truly understand each other. In all of Kim's training, there is an undercurrent of calm, kind-hearted and consistent leadership combined with a joyful sense of play. Her goal is to produce a true working partnership between human and canine - a dog who is equally at home on the hiking trail, a sidewalk cafe or curled up by the fire at the end of a busy day.

Class size is limited to four dogs to ensure that everyone receives plenty of individual attention. All classes are open to dogs age four months and older.

Unless otherwise noted, classes take place indoors at Southpaws Playschool's comfortable indoor facility located at 2324B South Lamar Blvd.

Manners and Obedience I:

In Obedience I, dogs learn the foundation skills that dog owners find most useful in everyday life. These skills are:

  • Sit
  • Down
  • Come when called
  • Heel
  • Pay attention
We also cover the most common behavior problems including barking, jumping up on people and barging through doors. As the weeks go by, your dog's attention span will increase and she'll become more able and willing to listen to you - no matter what! Includes one free half-hour private lesson, a $35 value. Cost: $187.50.

Next six week class begins:
Saturday, September 11 at 10:30 am (Southpaws Playschool.) One spot left.

Fun With a Purpose

Obedience can be fun! In this intermediate level class, dog and handler teams practice and improve their obedience skills through tricks, games and agility obstacles. Open to intermediate and advanced clients of Kim the Dog Trainer. Cost: $100 for 5 sessions.
